Following an intense two year development period, the Hadlow builds on the foundation of precision performance and astounding power to create a kite that continues to redefine the boundaries of freestyle kitesurfing. Designed with Aaron’s unprecedented attention to detail and exacting attitude, the 2011 Hadlow aims to offer the complete package for today’s advanced kitesurfer. Traditionally aimed purely at the highly competent and advanced freestyle kitesurfer, the Hadlow continues to be the very purest performance machine on the market; however with a new depowered setting, Aaron has targeted a greater span of ability with his 2011 signature model. With a new focus on the progressive rider, you might be thinking that this year’s model has been scaled down. Far from it, Aaron has maintained his focus throughout the Hadlow’s development to produce the peak of performance in freestyle kitesurfing.

Awesome Freestyle kite

Switched to Hadlow Pros after using the Best Yarga Team for 3 seasons. This kite delivers all the freestyle performance needed for unhooked tricks. Great bar, just needed a centering CL piece and a bit softer grip, otherwise, perfekt. I rid eit with 5.th line as the kite is a bitch to relaunch but what else to expect from a pure highly aerodynamic C-kite. Perfekt for what I need it for. Delivers tons of slack for passing the bar. This really positively surprised me and makes me wonna ride the kite again and again :)

Hadlow pro 2011

I’ve been riding my Hadlow pro for a while now so I’ve got a good impression of it.

Starting with the basics the build quality of the kite is really good. As soon as you pick up the kite you can tell it’s reallyA tough and well reinforced. I have crashed my kite many times trying unhooked freestyle and it copes well.

The bar has a very short depower rope which means less depower is on tap. The bar is seriously gripy which helps with the freestyle part but I find at the end of the session my hands are sore. The above bar depower is really good and allows you to sheet in instantly before unhooking.

Unhooked this kite is perfect! Not too much pull and unbelievable pop and the kite slackens just the right amount in the air making handle passes that tiny bit easier. Hooked in the kite is responsive to rider input and takes a wider arc while turning. The boost on this kite is big. It really throws you up there but doesn’t has a lot of hang time, it’s more a straight up and down with little float.

Relaunch is not the best on this kite and can take a bit of time and a lot of coaxing to get it back in to the air. Using the fifth line makes it a bit easier but if you want that instant relaunch this kite is not for you.

Light wind is not great as it’s a heavy 6 strut kite with lots of reinforcement but it copes ok.

If you’re looking to do any unhooked stuff then this kite is outstanding. If you’re not such an experienced rider then look elsewhere as this may be too much for you.
