This is an outstanding kite!
I bought this kite as an ex-demo model - the bar and associated items had shown a lot of wear - something I'd expect for a kite several years old. However, these were just cosmetic (the EVA pads coming unstuck - fixed easily with contact adhesive, and the chrome surfaces had oxidized - fixed by sanding smooth). That said, I love how the bar works - everything in it's right place, uncluttered and works very very well.
I tested this kite in very light winds (measured between 7 and 11knots) - un the lull's it fell back into the window, yet, I estimate between 8 to 10 knots I was able to get up and planing on a surfboard. This is way better that I had expected! At 14knots it's very well powered for a twintip.
Also tested the upper end at 25 knots gusting well over 30... and it was totally capable.. admittedly well over it's range, but where I live we often get very gusty wind so I wanted to know I wouldn't get in trouble (unlike a friend with a new 2011 North Evo that has, what we can only call, a dangerously narrow range). During the extreme gusts the kite would "jellyfish" - but I thing any kite of that size in that wind would do the same. Fortunately, this kite has outstanding depower adjustment at your fingertips.
Flight wise: it turns very quickly - certainly the quickest 12m I've flown. It's got perfect bar pressure (for me) and is very responsive - easy to fly one handed.
For jumping (which I'm someone addicted to) it's insane! Point it up and/or hit a lip and it's launch time! I've never jumped so high or long. And it's not just every now and then - every jump is huge and lofty.
I haven't looped it or ridden unhooked - so cannot comment.
What surprises me is why I don't see more of these on the water.. it really is an awesome kite. Everything is just so easy.
Good kite with some disadvantages
I have been using this kite for 5 months, and I'm satisfied with it in overall.
-fast turning, not as fast as my furia but not bad :)
-good equipment (bar, repair kit, manual)
-Bar quality is not the best, I had to use some glue to repair it
-In strong wind it is hard to depower so I had some troubles when the wind suddenly intensified.
In overall, it is a good kite for advanced users.
