Ocean Rodeo Razor (2011) Hot
The 4 strut Razor C shape gives freestyle and wave riders faster turning and relaunch combined with a constant grunty pull and excellent stability. The Razor ships standard with our limited throw,”mini 5th” Freestyle SLE bar and lines or optionally with our traditional Freeride SLE bar and lines.

all of the sizes took a lot of fine tuning to prevent backstalls when there was even a slight lull in the wind. using this kite was pretty depressing due to the fact that every other 2011 kite i have used (except the rise) relaunched much easier and flew much better in the gusts. living in hood river you need a stable kite... this is not it
Great low end. I was staying up wind on a surfboard when most guys were on 15-16 meter kites. The kite is grunty and has some bar pressure, not uncomfortable. I had some difficulty with below the bar sheeting in and out. It was hard to pull the line in above the cleat when powered up.
What am I doing wrong?
I used my new 2011 Razor 12 twice this week. The wind was variable with terrible gusts.
I was impressed by how good this kite handled the gusts. I was also impressed by how easy this kite relaunches. It just jumps up from the corner of the wind window - it wants to be in the air. You can jump high with this kite and it jerks you hard from the ground.
Sometimes the wind dropped a little. Other guys was still jumping around having fun with 9m Switchblades and Cults, but I couldn't even get back to my bag. I've been kiteboarding all year round (on snow and water) since 2002, but today I felt like a complete newbie again. I ended up doing the walk of shame. The worst thing is that I could feel the wind and it was absolutely strong enough for playing around with my old kite (Cult 12). I've read on different forums that the Razor has a fantastic low end, but I'm not so sure .. or I'm doing something very wrong. I don't know.
