The 2012 Naish Torch is designed for competition freestyle, power freeriding and unhooked waveriding. The Torch flies quickly through the air and will depower easily with a quick check of the board edge. The power is delivered smoothly, with depower similar to a bridled kite by virtue of the kite's ability to fly fast. Hooked in or unhooked, the riding is effortless and precise. The position of the struts makes the kite stiffer in the air, for an even more precise handling.

Naish Torch 2012 7,11m - Awesome Freestyle Kites

Naish Torch 2012

Conditions tested in
7m - 25-49mph Super Gusty day
11m - 14-22 mph
Rider 5'8" 70kg

Build quality:
Bag, Kite and bar are all superb
Air Pump has a pressure gauge showing the correct pressure for each size kite.
The kites inflate very fast, quick to setup.
Graphics look stunning on the ground and in flight.

When launched the kite feels super stable in the air.
Goes exactly where you put it.
The depower is in easy reach.
It reacts extremely well to gusts.
Very predictable.
Hooked in jumping is fantastic, you can get some serious height with this.
Kiteloops are fast and very powerful, it has a nice lift as the kite completes the loop
so dont land too heavy.

Unhooked:
Pop is explosive !
This did catch me by surprise a little if you are used to bow kites.
Amazing when you get used to it.
Bar feels good.
Not tried the 5th line safety as i ride on Suicide mode.
Still enough time to catch the kite if you miss a handlepass.

Waveriding:
You always feel exactly where the kite is in the sky.
Plenty of power when you bottom turn and dive the kite.

Relaunch:
Its not as easy as bow to relaunch.
7m got mashed by a wave, was back up in the air within seconds.
Tested the 11m in light winds, sometimes you need to let the kite role onto its back to
get it take off.
Alot easier to relaunch when the wind is stronger, light winds are tricky.

Overall:
Absolutely awesome kite, has it all, Big air, great feel
superb build quality, fantastic pop
Love it :)
